Just click on the links in the class descriptions below on the right date and time, and you will be taken directly to the class.

All classes are open to people with and without disabilities, and all ages.

Here are some things to keep in mind for the best dance at home experience:

  • Clear the space, so you can move freely
  • If you are a standing dancer, please wear shoes or remove your socks if dancing on a slippery surface
  • Keep a drink of water nearby
  • Wear clothes you can move freely in
  • Let yourself go and have fun

Chawna Exner has a diverse background in dance, including training in the University of Calgary contemporary dance program, and has been a long-standing member of the Calgary arts community. The bulk of her involvement began with the discovery of her burlesque alter-ego, Eva Angel.

Since spreading her showgirl wings in 2009 with local troupes The Garter Girls, and Fake Mustache Drag, Eva has built her career as a burlesque artist around performing, teaching, choreographing, and costuming. While her performances have brought her around the country, she is a regular on many local stages. Chawna/ Eva has been a member of the Momo team since 2018. Teacher Training

Join Momo Movement’s artistic director, Kyra Newton for a community teacher training opportunity open to movement facilitators of all kinds including; dance, yoga, physical education and other movement methodologies.

Participants can expect to learn about equity and how to create it in the classroom; different disabilities and how to meet varying needs; dance exercises for all bodies and minds; the different dance paradigms specific to mixed-ability dance; how to compose the space, work with music, and create a successful lesson plan; and give yourself and others feedback. On Sunday, facilitators will have the option to co-teach a class open to the public, afterwards you are welcome to receive the group’s feedback. This training is intended to nourish the dance teacher and create safer spaces for inclusion and experiencing dance.

Stay tuned for information about our next teacher training opportunties.

We set a limit on enrollment to provide the best experience for each dancer. This means that classes fill up quickly. When this happens, we start a wait list to get as many dancers in as we can. This also means we do not have room for drop-in students unfortunately. Thank you for your understanding. Contact us at for any questions or concerns.
