Momo Movement offers classes, workshops and training opportunities for dancers and movement facilitators of all skill levels, and to people with and without disabilities at studios and through disability serving agencies all over Calgary.
Momo Movement brings together individuals of all abilities and skill levels to be challenged in the joyful practice of dance. Through movement and games we strive to remove as many barriers as possible, so that every individual can feel confident with their own self expression and creativity, and to foster growth through movement. There is no right or wrong at Momo Movement, if you’re moving, you’re dancing.

In response to Covid-19, the desires of our dancers, and the slow return to regular programming, Momo will be offering a selection of digital and in-person classes during the 2020/2021 season.
Please take a look at Momo’s Covid-19 Safe Dance Class Rules and Community Agreement to figure out of in-person classes are the right option for you.

Join Momo Movement’s artistic director, Kyra Newton for a community teacher training opportunity open to movement facilitators of all kinds including; dance, yoga, physical education and other movement methodologies.
Participants can expect to learn about equity and how to create it in the classroom; different disabilities and how to meet varying needs; dance exercises for all bodies and minds; the different dance paradigms specific to mixed-ability dance; how to compose the space, work with music, and create a successful lesson plan; and give yourself and others feedback. On Sunday, facilitators will have the option to co-teach a class open to the public, afterwards you are welcome to receive the group’s feedback. This training is intended to nourish the dance teacher and create safer spaces for inclusion and experiencing dance.
Stay tuned for information about our next teacher training opportunties.
We set a limit on enrollment to provide the best experience for each dancer. This means that classes fill up quickly. When this happens, we start a wait list to get as many dancers in as we can. This also means we do not have room for drop-in students unfortunately. Thank you for your understanding. Contact us at email@example.com for any questions or concerns.
